I traveled to Nara for an on-location photo shoot
奈良まで出張撮影してきました！
— this time with a family visiting from overseas!
今回は海外からのお客様…。
In the soft winter light,
冬のやわらかな光の中、
time seemed to slow in Nara Park as the family gently closed the distance with the deer,
奈良公園では鹿と自然に距離を縮めながら、
little by little easing out of the tension of travel.
旅の緊張が少しずつほどけていく時間が流れます。
A hand resting softly on a head,
そっと頭に触れる手、
a fleeting moment of eye contact, a smile that surfaced without thought—rather than sightseeing, it felt as though they were blending into the quiet rhythm of everyday life in Nara.
目線を合わせる一瞬、思わずこぼれる笑顔…。
Those calm, natural expressions were especially memorable.
観光というよりも、奈良の日常に溶け込んでいくような、穏やかな表情が印象的でした。
At Tōdai-ji, surrounded by the overwhelming presence of the Great South Gate and the Daibutsuden,
…東大寺では、南大門や大仏殿の圧倒的な存在感に包まれながら、
each family member took in Japan’s history and the atmosphere of prayer in their own way.
それぞれが日本の歴史や祈りの空気を感じ取っていきます。
The focused look while choosing an amulet,
お守りを選ぶ真剣な横顔、
the stillness of hands pressed together,
手を合わせる静かな時間、
the natural closeness of standing shoulder to shoulder
家族で肩を寄せ合う自然な仕草…。
—each moment was carefully preserved as a lasting testament to the time they spent in this place.
そのひとつひとつが、この場所で過ごした時間の確かな証として、写真に刻まれました。
Beyond posed photographs in front of famous landmarks,
名所を背景にした記念写真だけでなく、
I sought to capture the conversations shared while walking,
歩きながら交わす会話や、
and the subtle presence felt just beyond one’s gaze,
ふとした視線の先にある気配まで写しとめることで、
allowing the memory of the journey itself to come alive.
旅そのものの記憶が立ち上がります。
I hope their day in Nara remains something they can return to again and again
奈良で過ごされた一日が、
—as a treasured chapter in their family’s story.
